It is in this context that Acteon, a UK-based company comes into the picture, offering the right innovation and support to the oil and gas industry by offering cost efficiencies and project timeline savings for complex projects, for decades. They offer holistic solutions to their clients, ranging from pre-development and front-end-engineering, development services, operations, late-life to decommissioning and post-abandonment for projects of all water-depths. With the comprehensive coverage of these solutions, Acteon provides all-in-one support to the customers while assuring reduced project footprint and minimal environmental impact.
The other major arena that Acteon contributes to is in floating production installation services. Their customisable and integrated installation and positioning solutions cut down the risk of overruns, accelerate floating facilities’ installations and improve lifetime value. Furthermore, Acteon’s data gathering and monitoring systems also add to the enhanced lifetime value by helping in risk forecasting and mitigation in the future maintenance and decommissioning tasks.
The extensive solutions offered by Acteon extend across the entire lifecycle of the field. This life-of-field management that includes structural design, regulatory approval, geotechnical services, procurement, installation and decommissioning of oil rigs, is a major player, assisting in achieving cost-efficiency.
DRILLASSURE™ is one of the highlighting case studies of Acteon, where they helped the client operator in monitoring accumulated conductor fatigue damage in the Gulf of Mexico. Previously the conductor was given a fatigue life of only eight days, and the client had to install a standalone monitoring system to measure BOP, conductor movements and overall global riser-response. Acteon assisted them to leverage monitoring data to determine the actual conductor and wellhead fatigue incurred during the drilling operation. This enabled the client to eliminate the need for undertaking a detailed fatigue analysis of the drilling campaign.

Acteon has installed equipment for some of the largest oil and gas developments across the globe. They successfully worked on the installation and mooring system of replacement for the Chevron Alba project in the UK.
Today’s increased focus on expanding renewables’ market has enhanced Acteon’s scope to deliver solutions for the same. Over the years, Acteon has gained immense expertise in structural dynamic engineering of floating and fixed assets for oil and gas. And this gives them the confidence to translate the core competencies from this domain to create renewable assets. They are already working on utilising their predictive modelling experience, remote data access and process capabilities for solutions across the renewables realm.
