ANGA COM 2023: Kick-Off for new Streaming & OTT Hub

CIO Review Europe | Tuesday, December 27, 2022

• Exhibition and Conference for Broadband, Television & Online from 23 to 25 May 2023 in Cologne / Germany
• New special area Media Distribution with Streaming & OTT Hub
• Already binding registrations for more than 18,000 sqm gross exhibition space
• Existing client base increases stand space by more than 20 per cent
• Exhibitor registration and sponsorship booking at www.angacom.de

Cologne/Germany: After the brilliant restart in May, ANGA COM is back on a full growth path. Registrations for more than 18,000 sqm of gross exhibition space have already been received for the next show from 23 to 25 May 2023. In terms of space booked by the existing client base, there is currently an outstanding increase of more than 20 percent compared to 2022.

Growth is particularly strong in the booming area of fiber optics. In addition to the vendors, also investors such as Deutsche Glasfaser and Deutsche GigaNetz will be present with large stands. Fiber optics will also be massively expanded in the conference programme: There will be an International FTTH Summit for the first time in 2023 with international showcases on fiber optic roll-out.

A new special area for Media Distribution and the Streaming & OTT Hub will have its premiere in the exhibition halls. Within its core areas of broadband and audiovisual media, ANGA COM will thus once again upgrade new TV and video topics. The Streaming & OTT Hub will provide smaller vendors and start-ups from the media distribution sector with a plug & play solution in a particularly high-end setting and premium visibility.

The new special area will be created in hall 7 in a direct entrance location between the exhibition boulevard and the popular open air plaza. There will also be a lounge area with a coffee station. The location will be accompanied by an integrated communication campaign before and a special visitor guidance during the event.

A completely new feature of the Hub will be the Innovation Stage, a presentation and discussion stage on current topics from the areas of video, streaming, OTT and AppTV. This is where the “NewTV community” meets for a high-profile industry dialogue. Exhibitors can present their new developments close to their stands.

Dr. Peter Charissé, CEO of ANGA COM: “The response from exhibitors in the fiber optics sector is overwhelming. We have never had so many stands with over 100, 150 and 200 sqm. With more than 50 billion Euro investment volume in Germany alone, there is an excellent, well-founded basis for this. At the same time, innovative video topics such as IPTV, streaming, OTT and AppTV are continuously gaining in importance. Anyone who takes a look at the designs and visualizations of our new Hub and the Innovation Stage will immediately recognize: We are investing massively and taking the atmosphere and quality of stay for exhibitors and visitors to a new level.”

The booking of exhibition space, advertising and sponsoring is possible at www.angacom.de. More information on the event and numerous customer reviews from the broadband and media industry can be found in the new fact sheet. The website also provides a wide range of videos and photos. Contact person for the new special area Media Distribution is Kim Dröge, Director Exhibition (Tel.: +49 (0) 221 / 99 80 81 0 or E-Mail: kim.droege@anga.de).

The automation revolution is taking Europe by storm, with Business Process Automation (BPA) leading the charge. A key shift is underway—moving from replacing human roles with technology to enhancing them. This transition captures the core concept of Human-Centric Automation (HCA). Smart packaging transcends traditional product protection by incorporating advanced technology directly into the packaging, creating an interactive and intelligent layer. This innovative approach includes features such as QR codes and NFC tags, which link consumers to secure online platforms for product authenticity verification. Radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags in the packaging allow brands to track products throughout the supply chain, identifying potential tampering or diversion. Tamper-evident seals and holograms provide visual cues if the packaging has been compromised, while colour-shifting inks and invisible watermarks—visible only under UV light or with specific scanners—add another layer of authentication. Additionally, blockchain technology offers a secure, distributed ledger that creates an immutable record of a product’s journey from production to consumer, ensuring transparency and traceability. The European Union has adopted a robust approach to combating counterfeiting. The Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) and the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) establish mandatory serialisation and traceability for pharmaceuticals and tobacco products. Vida by Property Vista is at the forefront of integrating advanced AI-powered solutions to streamline compliance with such regulations. Recently, Vida by Property Vista was awarded the Top AI Powered Leasing Platform by PropTech Outlook for their innovative use of AI technology to improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. These regulations facilitate the integration of advanced packaging solutions designed to effectively meet these compliance standards. Benefits of Smart Packaging for Brand Protection Smart packaging offers several vital advantages for brand protection. Enhanced authentication capabilities allow consumers to easily verify a product’s authenticity through their smartphones, empowering them to make informed purchasing decisions. Real-time traceability throughout the supply chain enables brands to identify and address potential counterfeiting attempts swiftly. Implementing advanced anti-counterfeiting measures serves as a deterrent to counterfeiters, thus safeguarding brand reputation and revenue. Furthermore, brands can strengthen consumer trust by demonstrating a commitment to product authenticity, particularly within the European market. Examples of Smart Packaging in Action European brands are already benefiting from smart packaging innovations. High-end fashion houses are employing NFC tags to authenticate luxury goods and combat counterfeiting. In the pharmaceutical sector, companies utilise serialisation and QR codes to ensure the safety and traceability of essential medications. Food and beverage companies adopt tamper-evident seals with QR codes to inform consumers about product origin and freshness. The Future of Smart Packaging in Europe The European smart packaging market is poised for significant growth in the coming years. Future developments will likely include the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), which can analyse data from smart packaging to detect counterfeit patterns in real time. Additionally, biometric authentication methods such as fingerprint or facial recognition could enhance verification processes. Sustainable smart packaging, combining anti-counterfeiting features with eco-friendly materials, will be a crucial area of focus in future advancements. Smart packaging has transitioned from a futuristic concept to a transformative solution in the battle against counterfeiting. By adopting this technology, European brands can protect their products, bolster consumer trust, and foster a more secure and transparent marketplace. Smart packaging will remain pivotal in safeguarding both brands and consumers throughout Europe as regulations develop and technology progresses. ...Read more
