AWS Network Firewall Now Supports Managed Security Rules

The AWS Network Firewall works with AWS Managed Threat Signatures to prevent attacks against risks without creating and maintaining their own rules.
FREMONT, CA: The AWS Network Firewall supports AWS Managed Threat Signatures to identify threats and prevent attacks against known vulnerabilities, allowing businesses to stay up to date on the most recent security risks without creating and maintaining their own rules. It now supports AWS-managed rules to defend against malware for mobile operating systems, credential phishing, and coin mining malware (OS).
The AWS Network Firewall's configurable rules engine allows businesses to write firewall rules that provide fine-grained control over network traffic. It enables stateful managed rules for intrusion detection and prevention signatures that guard against threats like botnets, scanners, online attacks, and emerging events in addition to coin mining, phishing, and mobile OS-managed rules. 16 kinds of managed threat signature rule material are completely visible. To add managed rule groups to your AWS Network Firewall policies, can either choose them or copy and edit existing rule groups to suit a business’s needs. Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) is used by AWS Network Firewall to notify users of managed rule group modifications.

AWS Managed Threat Signatures is offered free of charge. Using the Network Firewall API or the Amazon VPC Console can access the new threat signature rules for AWS Network Firewall. All commercial AWS Regions that offer an AWS Network Firewall, as well as AWS GovCloud (US) Regions, have access to this capability. The managed firewall solution, AWS Network Firewall, makes it simple to implement necessary network security measures across all Amazon VPCs. Without the need to install or manage the underlying infrastructure, the service automatically scales with the volume of network traffic to provide high-availability protection.
