SAP Analytics Cloud is introducing new features this year to provide a wide range of possibilities for users to optimise their solutions.
FREMONT, CA: Several intriguing features were introduced in the SAP analytics cloud during the first half of the year. New components and functions are on the way to being implanted shortly.
Product Planning for New Trends
Bi-directional transfer and Data Integration with SAP Data Warehouse Cloud
SAP will predominantly focus on the integration of the SAP analytics cloud and SAP data warehouse cloud to form an ultimate power couple. It is a great advantage for planning users which enables them to transfer data between these programmes. Furthermore, it also helps them to retract forecast, load and plan data from the SAP analytics cloud to the SAP data warehouse cloud and vice versa to view the members associated with specifically selected hierarchies. This highlights the integration of these solutions as a productive combination.
SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (SAP BPC) and API for Planning Sequence
In the next half of this year, SAP will be introducing an API that offers customers the ability to implement planning sequences in analytical applications with live SAP BPC connections. This includes assistance for planning sequences like deleting plan data, to more complex sequences with several phases, prompts, and even a final publishing step. Thus, a new significant feature will be the ability to expose variables in the planning sequence and their current value.
Optimised Story Experience- Linked Analysis, Measure-Based Filter, Etc
Optimised Story Experience, which was introduced at the end of 2021, comprises two elements: Optimised view mode (OVM) and optimised design experience (ODE). Features to enhance both users' viewing of stories and those designing stories have been observed earlier. The next step is to introduce plenty of new features this year to boost usability in optimised view mode and optimised design experience.
SAP supports both optimised view mode and optimised design experience in DWC data models, linked analysis, measure-based filtering, and jump to story hyperlink with filter content. For optimised design experience, it supports story translation service, classic account model, new model type, and BPC live model, planning workflows, zero suppression in charts, unbooked data in charts, status image, and new model type support for measure input controls. Additionally, new features for both OVM and ODM are introduced, which help with improved loading experiences, account-based filters, and chart local filters.
Multi-language Master Data
In quarterly release cycle 3, SAP will offer support for the ability to store and retrieve master-data member descriptions in different languages. This will also include support for translations of member description fields on public dimensions, support for languages consisting of all current data access languages available within the SAP analytics cloud, and exposing distinct language attributes for each language. These features will further help in entering or updating language attributes directly and loading them from an external source.
Predictive Planning on Business Calendars
Financial planners and controllers continue to benefit greatly from SAP Analytics Cloud's Predictive Planning features. Financial planners will be able to access predictive projections from planning models based on business calendars in 2022. Moreover, customers can specify a business calendar based on industry-standard patterns in the SAP analytics cloud planning model. Business calendars enable users to build predictive models in predicting planning and create predictive forecasts that can be mentioned in the planning model.
