Financial technology solutions provider MonetaGo announced the launch of operations in Europe, effective March 1, 2022, and the appointment of Oswald Kuyler to the newly created role of head of the strategy

FREMONT, CA: Kuyler, based in London, would undertake MonetaGo's European expansion, bringing together European, UK, and global institutions to combat financial fraud and overcome paper-based manual document workflow inefficiencies.

Kuyler joins MonetaGo after serving as the first managing director of the ICC's Digital Standards Initiative (DSI), which was formed in September 2020. Kuyler was essential in bringing together partners from across the global trade ecosystem to facilitate interoperability and advance trade and trade finance digitization during his time at the DSI. Oswald, a pioneer in trade digitalization, would then continue to advise the ICC on its digital standards goals and collaborate more closely with ICC UK in its mission to boost digital trade. He spent the previous seven years at mining behemoth BHP, where he most recently served as head of a data strategy, overseeing a range of initiatives involving blockchain technology, electronic trade finance documentation, data analytics, and process automation.

Kuyler is on a mission to help the financial ecosystem serve more clients effectively, by improving the productivity of financial workflows and substantially lowering risks. Kuyler considers it an honor and is also excited to witness MonetaGo's Secure Financing and workflow solutions gain traction, expanding their reach and effectiveness for the benefit of the global trade finance industry.

MonetaGo is the biggest provider of technology to prevent both domestic and cross-border duplicate financing fraud in trade finance, having developed the first global solution to the problem. MonetaGo's business activities align with global political and regulatory mandates by reducing fraud in trade finance, allowing institutions to sustain supply chains and expand their books of business into new markets and underserved sectors while maintaining privacy and enabling critical real-time decision making.

MonetaGo's Secure Financing platform has been in use since March 2018 and has seen significant transaction throughput. At the AMTD DigFin Innovation Awards at the Hong Kong Fintech Week 2021, the Secure Financing solution was named Best Solution in Trade Finance, as well as Most Innovative Use of Blockchain in Banking and Most Effective Bank-Fintech Partnership at the IBS Intelligence Global Fintech Innovation Awards 2021.
