Customers will be able to discover whether they are complying with the latest security industry guidelines with a single click, owing to an innovative security compliance tool that is already packed with cutting-edge security capabilities like automated patching and monitoring.
FREMONT, CA: Ultima Labs, the software development arm of cloud expert and automation provider Ultima, has released many new features for its cloud management platform, IA-Cloud, which automates cloud management expenses and consumption by up to 46 percent. Customers will be able to discover whether they are complying with the latest security industry guidelines with a single click, owing to an innovative security compliance tool that is already packed with cutting-edge security capabilities like automated patching and monitoring. A vulnerability analyzer will also notify clients of potential exploits that need to be addressed.
Amyn Jaffer, Head of Ultima Labs, says, "We are continually seeking feedback from customers on IA-Cloud to enable us to provide a platform which truly meets their needs. Our Feature Request Portal allows customers to view what features we are considering adding and either upvote them or submit their own ideas for consideration. We are proud of our commitment to continuously improving the product, and these new features are part of that commitment to provide the best service to our customers."
Ultima and its customers place a high value on security. Customers find it difficult to integrate their cloud infrastructure with best practices due to the rapid pace of change. As a result, it is too easy for customers to stray from security best practices. They frequently waste time on unimportant tasks; therefore, the firm has developed a security compliance tool to address this issue. The new feature will scan a customer's environment every week, and the latest security suite will automatically determine what security upgrades are required to keep up with industry best practices.
The suite is based on best practices from the Computer Security Institute (CSI) and experienced consultants, who thoroughly understand what customers must do to safeguard their environment. Customers will be given a security score and a clear indication of what has to be done to improve their security, something that would take weeks to analyze manually.
When software defects are discovered, businesses are at risk, and Microsoft vulnerabilities have recently been a major headline subject. IA-Cloud now delivers real-time information about Microsoft security vulnerabilities thanks to this new capability. IA-Cloud pulls high and medium Microsoft vulnerabilities from numerous industry-leading sources and centralizes the information in a searchable list to provide the customers with the most up-to-date and crucial information at their fingertips. And that is only the beginning; as time goes on, the company will be adding more vendors to the list.
Customers have requested a tool that makes managing their Azure estate easier and allows them to monitor what is going on at a glance at any given time. For instance, presenting an overview of their virtual machines, such as whether they are online, which appliances are prohibited, and which have degraded from a monitoring standpoint. This function makes management easier by automatically extracting data and making it readable. Furthermore, the capability will monitor serverless or platform services for customers, giving them a single source of truth for their whole environment.
This feature also offers a malware status service, in which IA-Cloud notifies customers of any malware that has been detected in the previous seven days and summarizes activities. The firm will also provide information about what fixes are needed and how long they will take to apply where the patching service is used. A filterable snapshot of backups is also a useful feature, as it gives customers the peace of mind that the environment is as secure as possible.
Design Documentation Service
The business has helped customers save hundreds of hours on paperwork. IA-Cloud gives entire architectural documentation in a single click, which would normally take days, if not weeks, to produce manually. Technical teams requested an inventory-style excel-based summary rather than a full-blown report; therefore, Ultima has implemented it as a feature based on customer input.
Ultima has revamped the optimization dashboard to generate recommendations quickly, make it clear what each piece of advice is and why it has been detected, and provide a direct link to the Azure resource to make remediation easier. Ultima has also incorporated eConsultancy advice to provide clients with personalized, actionable information in areas where recommendations were made frequently. The eConsultant now demonstrates to consumers how to permanently resolve concerns.
