This innovative solution empowers security and IT leaders to deeply analyse their data, swiftly uncover hidden insights and take decisive actions. Whether addressing network challenges, mitigating security threats or optimising IT operations, it equips clients with the foresight to pre-emptively tackle issues, ensuring seamless and secure business operations.

Pinpointing and prioritizing valuable datasets, the platform streamlines data analytics costs, collects and observes data in pure real time, and adds value to data in transit. And the Onum marketplace enhances operational efficiency through shared data flows, community-driven tools and customisable modules that adapt to evolving organisational needs. Its extensibility allows for seamless integration of additional components developed by clients, partners and the community, delivering ready-to-use capabilities that enhance value and functionality.

“Our platform's real-time processing and versatile capabilities cater to a wide range of customer needs, and we're continuously discovering new use cases through customer interactions. Its potential is limited only by the imaginations of our customers,” says Pedro Castillo, CEO.

With a robust background leading IT for Bankinter, one of Spain's largest banks, and later the founder and CEO of security unicorn Devo, Castillo possesses extensive expertise in IT and security. His profound understanding of these domains enabled him to recognize a common challenge faced by many companies - the overwhelming volume of undifferentiated data.

Motivated by his insight into the complexities of data management, he founded Onum to simplify data management processes, providing organizations with the tools to distill actionable insights from data chaos in pure real-time.

Unleashing Data’s True Potential

Onum assists organisations in effectively managing the extensive amount of data they generate. At an industry level, roughly a third of this data holds no value, while only 15 percent is considered business-critical. The remaining 52 percent resides in a grey area where its value is uncertain. This ambiguity forces organisations to send nearly all their data to analytics platforms, resulting in significant costs since many of these platforms charge uniformly regardless of data value. The platform addresses this by isolating valuable data from the noise, significantly reducing the volume of data sent to analytics platforms and thereby cutting costs.

Positioned as close as possible to where the data is generated, it collects and observes information across every facet of a hybrid network—whether public or private cloud platforms, on-premises data centres or OT and SCADA environments. This proximity ensures that data is captured immediately as it is generated, providing real-time insights and enabling swift action.

“We're not just offering a product, we're delivering a solution that empowers organisations to harness their data's full potential,” says Castillo.

For example, a major global bank was struggling to understand its IT footprint, particularly with shadow IT, which led to severe security concerns due to numerous unknown and unquantified devices.
The cost of analyzing this network data was prohibitively expensive, leading the bank to cease scanning altogether. Their analytics platforms were overwhelmed, processing vast amounts of data, which elevated their cybersecurity risk to unquantifiable levels. Consequently, the bank was unable to meet its own compliance guidelines.

Implementing Onum, the bank can now concentrate on the data that truly matters. This allowed for a substantial reduction in the data requiring analysis, enabling a thorough and cost-effective assessment of their entire network environment. Onum's solution helped the bank detect network threats and warning signs within their data. They successfully quantified their cybersecurity risk and could mitigate it promptly. The bank is now 100 percent compliant with their guidelines.

Empowering Control and Compliance

Onum excels at facilitating seamless data control and distribution across diverse analytics platforms within organisations. In today's bustling business landscape, various departments often require specialised data in specific formats for their analyses. Traditional analytics platforms tend to operate in silos, making it challenging to effectively serve these diverse needs. This fragmentation can lead to a loss of data control, which is crucial for operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

Standing out with its truly agnostic nature, Onum integrates easily with all existing analytics tools, storage platforms and IT infrastructures. This integration eliminates vendor lock-in and enables organisations to maximise their investments in their current systems. Its ability to observe data in real-time as it traverses the network allows businesses to maintain control over their data while sending real-time alerts on any abnormalities, potential security risks or system issues. This holistic view of data in transit ensures that all departments receive the data they need, when and how they need it, enhancing overall operational efficiency.

The platform seamlessly routes data to platforms like Splunk, Devo, LogRhythm, Exabeam or custom analytics systems, ensuring timely delivery without disrupting processes. It enhances data analytics by adding context and preserving the full-fidelity version of the original data for regulatory compliance. It maintains a trace of every piece of data, documenting where, why and when it was sent, providing a comprehensive view for regulatory inquiries.

Our platform's real-time processing and versatile capabilities cater to a wide range of customer needs, and we're continuously discovering new use cases through customer interactions. Its potential is limited only by customers' imagination

In a head-to-head analysis with a major bank customer who switched from a competitor, Onum demonstrated remarkable efficiency. The competitor needed 13 large servers to perform the same tasks that Onum's solution could handle faster and more efficiently with just one eight-core machine. This versatile solution runs on Kubernetes, Linux kernels, or in public or private cloud environments without necessitating additional infrastructure. Such efficiency and flexibility make it a standout choice for any organization with large amounts of data – including telco’s, financial services institutions, and manufacturing facilities.

Performance and User Experience Redefined

One of Onum's standout advantages is its ability to eliminate the significant time lag associated with legacy observation platforms. These platforms typically require extensive time to gather, process and prepare data for action, which can leave organisations vulnerable to missing critical warning signs. Real-time data observation, crucial for helping security and IT leaders make rapid and proactive decisions to mitigate risks and seize opportunities, is where Onum truly shines.

Onum's proprietary parsing algorithm and transmission protocols stand at the forefront of innovation. Unlike legacy methods that rely on exhaustive full data scans, Onum intelligently utilizes data, ensuring rapid processing times that enable the solution to handle significantly more events than the closest competitor.

Another notable feature of Onum's zero-code platform is its minimal need for ongoing adjustments. After a new sale, the technical team visits the site for a couple of days to assist with initial configuration. Once set up, the system operates with little need for further intervention. Users manage everything through an intuitive graphical user interface console, where they can create new data observation pipelines using a simple drag-and-drop interface. They can select their data sources, add components like parsers, message builders, conditionals and data sinks and configure everything with a few clicks, often building a comprehensive pipeline in about 20 to 30 seconds.

Onum's success is driven by a team of industry veterans with extensive experience in IT, cybersecurity and data analytics. As Onum continues to innovate and evolve, it sets new standards in data orchestration and analytics, proving that the future of data processing lies in real-time, efficient and adaptable solutions. With its commitment to delivering unparalleled performance and value, Onum goes beyond leadership in the field, serving as a catalyst for transforming how organisations manage and secure their data.
