Mathematical Optimization: The Key to Solving Your Complex Business Problems
Have you ever wondered how a global shipping company manages thousands of packages daily, accurately delivering them worldwide? Are you curious how an international airline can coordinate hundreds of people from various cities across multiple countries to multiple destinations on time? How about how a food company ships its time-sensitive cargo before it spoils?
Mathematical optimization, a powerful decision intelligence tool, is the force behind the quickest route on your mobile phone, the timely delivery of packages, and seamless airline and hotel bookings. Companies and organizations know that creating ideal business situations creates value. But what does that mean, and what is the connection between these powerful algorithms and a company’s bottom line? Gurobi will shed light on these questions at its annual Gurobi Summit.
What is Gurobi Summit?
Gurobi Summit EMEAI 2024, formerly known as Gurobi Live, will be held November 5 and 6 at the beautiful Capital C in Amsterdam, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and innovators from various sectors. The Summit will break down the complex architecture of mathematical optimization and focus on how companies can overcome their toughest challenges by leveraging decision intelligence technology. This exclusive event includes two tracks with informative presentations, inspiring use cases, hands-on training, and one-on-one consultations with Gurobi experts.
Track One: Embracing Business Complexity Through Optimization
Track One will focus on the practical implementation of mathematical optimization across key business areas to ensure transformation and resilience. This track will explore the complexities involved, the expertise required, and the pitfalls to avoid when implementing optimization-based decision-making to solve complex business problems. It will feature six thirty-minute sessions and business use cases from leaders at FedEx, LTPLabs, Amorim Group, Jumbo Supermarkten, ICRON, and Gurobi.

Track Two: From Optimization 101 to Implementing Real-World, Well-Performing Models
Track Two will feature technical sessions, ranging from beginner to advanced, focusing on the complex architecture of mathematical optimization and the best practices for implementing these models to solve complex business problems. It will feature five technical sessions and use cases led by Gurobi experts, as well as first-hand experiences from Gurobi customers, including BAMA, Aditya Birla Group, and Reganosa.
Technical Training for Wherever You Are in Your Optimization Journey
Day Two of the Summit offers three levels of technical training for data scientists – beginner, intermediate, and advanced.
For data scientists who are new to mathematical optimization and machine learning, Gurobi will host two sessions and explain how mathematical optimization differs from other AI methods, how it aids in making complex decisions, and why it is a valuable asset to add to your professional toolkit.
Our premier partner, Accenture, will host a session titled AI + Optimization to Enable New Frontiers in Decision Intelligence. This training, designed for intermediate users, will examine the powerful combination of mathematical optimization and machine learning.
Advanced users will learn how to handle challenging models and master numerical challenges from Gurobi Experts.
Who Should Attend Gurobi Summit?
This event is a chance for operations researchers, data scientists, and business leaders to discover the benefits of mathematical optimization and expand their knowledge and skills. Operations researchers will sharpen their mathematical optimization skills alongside Gurobi experts and learn how to generate globally optimal solutions. Data scientists will learn how to turn their machine-learning predictions into optimized business decisions. Business leaders will discover how decision intelligence can help achieve business objectives. No matter where you are in your optimization journey, there is something for everyone!
Attendees will:
• Discover how KLM optimizes flight experience with our Keynote session speakers from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines.
• Gain insights from our panel discussion on Leveraging Mathematical Optimization to Navigate Global Mega Trends.
• Be inspired by Norway’s leading fruit and vegetable supplier on how they Optimize Logistics with Gurobi and Azure.
• Learn how FedEx streamlines its operations and adheres to labor regulations utilizing LION.
• Delve into a technical training from Accenture that explores the use of AI + Optimization to Enable New Frontiers in Decision Intelligence.
